Alpha Nu Chapter of Sigma Chi at The University of Texas H Spring 2022 Founded in 1884 House Prepared for Summer Move-In New Gifts Needed to Complete Our Campaign A s you may remember, construction on the Alpha Nu Chapter House was set to finish by the summer of last year. Soon aer our spring 2021 newsletter mailed, we had to pivot due to discrepancies with the City of Austin resulting in a redo of some areas of the house. Since then, the final stages of the project have gone well. Braun and Butler are nearly finished on the new dorm construction, and Austin Energy is working on the finishing touches—specifically, a new transformer that will power our property as well as adjacent buildings. e structure will be ready to welcome our Alpha Nu brothers as they move in this summer. ese updates also led to an increase in construction costs, and we aim to address this as soon as possible. e Alpha Nu…A Tradition to Build Upon campaign has made excellent progress these past few years, but we are at a point where pledge payments alone will not resolve this. e best way to address these costs in a timely manner is with new cash gis from all who are able. I am truly grateful to the 197 donors who have raised nearly $3 million! To shed some light on that number, the current contributors make up 13.5% of our Alpha Nu alumni base. e average participation rate of successful Greek capital campaigns is around 20%. If we all make a push for that, I am confident we will easily meet these new costs and cross the campaign's finish line. To those who have yet to give, now is your time. Consider finding the name of a brother you know on the donor list and match his gi with a one-time contribution, or join with members of your pledge class in a group gi. Please use the enclosed pledge form or give online using the links on page 3.
