Tissue Paper Easter Eggs Supplies: • Bleeding tissue paper • Scissors • Mini spray bottle • Disposable gloves • Hard-boiled eggs • Water Instructions: 1. It is very important to make sure you have Bleeding Tissue Paper. Tissue papers you buy for gift packaging is non-bleeding…make sure the packaging says bleeding…you can find it at craft stores 2. To begin, cut pieces out of all of the colors of tissue paper. The shape doesn't really matter. 3. The dye from the tissue paper can stain your skin, so make sure to wear a pair of disposable gloves. Using a small spray bottle with water, spray the egg and then lay the strips of tissue paper over the egg. Cover the entire egg with the strips and spray with more water as needed. 4. Let the eggs dry for at least 10 minutes. The longer they dry the more dye that will transfer to the egg. 5. Peel the tissue paper away from the egg, and see all of the pretty colors that are left behind. What a fun surprise! Rice Dyed Easter Eggs Supplies: • Hard-boiled eggs • Plastic cups or bags • Dry rice • Food coloring Instructions: 1. For each color of egg, you'll need one cup of rice and one empty cup or bag. Fill plastic cup or bag with plain, dry rice about a third of the way to the top. 2. When you have several cups of rice prepared, add food coloring to rice. You can use two different colors for each cup if you'd like… Try red and blue; red and yellow, green and yellow. Drop 10-15 drops of each color directly into the dry rice; place the empty cup over the cup with rice, openings together, and shake the rice until the color is evenly distributed. You can do this by simply holding the cups together, or you can tape the cups together with masking tape before shaking. 3. Add egg and shake again. When the dye has been evenly distributed through the rice, pour all the rice into one of the cups and drop an egg in. Place the two cups together again and shake continuously until the egg is evenly covered in dye. TIP: shake gently so your egg doesn't break! 4. Take the cups apart and carefully remove the egg; set out to dry. TIP: Be sure to store eggs in the refrigerator to keep them edible. Tip: If you're planning to eat the eggs, substitute whipped cream for the shaving cream. If you make whipped cream eggs, they should be safe to eat. Supplies: • Shaving cream or whipped cream • Food coloring in assorted colors • Hard boiled eggs • 1 cup white vinegar • Paper towels • Gloves • Foil pan Instructions: 1. Soak hard boiled eggs in white vinegar for 10-15 minutes, then pat dry. 2. Spray foil pan with shaving or whipped cream and make smooth. 3. Add drops of food coloring to the pan and swirl the colors together to create a marbled texture. 4. Add the dried eggs to the colors and gently roll to apply. color. Leave the eggs in the shaving or whipped cream for a few minutes so that the color sticks to the eggs for more vibrant colors. 5. After 10-15 minutes, clean the eggs off with a paper towel and before serving, rinse with cold water to remove any excess food coloring from the eggs. Hey kids!
