When his father pushes him to be active in sports, Garvey decides to join the school chorus instead. This story talks about the importance of being true to yourself and finding who you are. The Science of Breakable Things by Tae Keller Grades 4-6 Natalie has always focused on science to help solve her problems. With her mother suffering from depression, Natalie want to help and decides a science project is the best way. Each Tiny Spark by Pablo Cartaya Grades 4-6 This touching story is about a girl named Emilia whose father has just returned home from deployment and is different than she remembers. Instead of opening up, he shuts himself inside the auto shop to work on an old car.
