Blowin' in the Wind for the month of March
are our pages to celebrate St Patrick's Day.
Wit, wisdom and the gift of the gab is said to
be yours in you kiss the Blarney Stone. But
that's not so easy to do. In the olden days,
they used to hold people by the ankles to
reach the stone – Yikes! Check out what's
involved on our Blarney Stone page.
In March we also celebrate Women's History
Month with pages featuring two amazing
ladies. Nellie Bly was the pen name of an
American journalist who was
famous for travelling around the
world in 72 days. She sent reports
of the trip home for the newspaper.
Clara Barton was the nurse who
founded the American Red Cross.
She was always known for her great
sense of kindness.
Are you feeling creative? You can make a
form of clay by combining newspapers and
dry wallpaper paste. We have the recipe for
Clay Play, so see if you can make some cool
clay sculptures.
On assignment, we travel to Africa to ask
some questions of a giraffe. Life for a tall
creature like that is quite amazing. What
questions would you ask a giraffe?
Why do leprechauns
recycle?
They like to go green!
Happy March,
