February might be short but it's a mighty
month with lots happening.
On Presidents' Day celebrated on Monday,
February 21, we honor all the past and
present presidents who have served America.
February 12th is the birthday of Abraham
Lincoln, and our pages show the character
traits that made him a legend. George
Washington was born on February 22,
1732, and he came to be called the Father
of the Country.
For Black History Month
we honor black inventors
and science pioneers whose
discoveries and creations
touch our everyday lives.
February is also Dental Health
Month. Looking after our teeth
is soooo important. These pages tell you what
you must do to avoid getting cavities and
needing fillings. We need reminding every day
to brush and take care of our teeth. Check out
the Power Brushing Chart — that provides
great reminders.
And it wouldn't be February without
Valentines Day. The Puzzle pages 12 and 16
and the Craft page 17 contain brain teasers
and couple of fun little tokens to make and
give to your friends.
So, while it may be cold and wet,
remember we are on the border
between winter and spring. Here's
hoping your February is filled with
love and sweet surprises.
