By Karen Rice | Bella Vista City Guide An advisory board to the City Council, the Bella Vista Arts Council was created in February 2016 to help promote the arts here in Bella Vista. One of the ways they do that is through their Artist of the Month (AOTM) program. e program recognizes artists who reside in Bella Vista and have distinguished themselves through the quality of their work, awards, juried festivals and, even works displayed in museums. "e Arts Council started this program in May of 2018 as a way to show appreciation for the many talented and successful creatives we have in our community," said Bella Vista Arts Council President Demara Titzer. "e program includes all types of creatives; fine artists, photographers, 2D and 3-D, mixed media, cra, authors, poets, musicians, and vocalists." Twenty-four artists have been recognized thus far. e program was paused in April of 2020, due to the pandemic, and relaunched in October of 2021. An advisory committee and Arts Council Board reviews each artist for qualifications and final selection. In October 2021, the AOTM was 17-year-old nature photographer Quin Warsaw. Quin Warsaw is a young local nature photographer, naturalist, and bird lover. He's been documenting nature through his photography for 4 years now. He has two birds, named Bella and Vista. He is a member of the Bella Vista Photography Club, Bella Vista Birders, Bella Vista Bluebird Society, and Arkansas Master Naturalists. Quin participates in the Arkansas Fish & Game Commission's Wings Over Arkansas program counting only those birds he's been able to photograph. He has now photographed over 150 bird species in Northwest Arkansas Bella Vista Arts Council engages the community through art Photo courtesy Terry Wilson Larry Pogue's sculpture, "Marilyn Monroe."
