THURSDAY, DECEMBER 23 CHRISTMAS GIVEBACK SEGRA STADIUM 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. VicBlends is hosting his second annual Christmas Giveback event with rapper Morray. The event is all about giving back to the community. The event will include free haircuts, free toys, free clothes and free food for the whole community. There will be resources to assist with rent and utilities, baby needs and free cell phone service. MONDAY, DECEMBER 27 CANDY CANE TRAIL SPRING LAKE MUNICIPAL COMPLEX 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. School break is here and the kids will be begging for something to do, so take them to the Candy Cane Trail. While on the trail, learn more about candy canes and if you can figure out the clues, you can be entered into a raffle for a bigger prize. Call 910-436-0011 for information. D-DAY: FREEDOM FROM ABOVE AIRBORNE & SPECIAL OPERATIONS MUSEUM 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Experience the invasion of Normandy throu- gh the eyes of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Division paratroopers using "HistoPad", which provides immersive, interactive, augmented reality of events surrounding D-Day. You can manipulate a series of 3D virtual artifacts, photos and extracts of archival films, interact with animated maps and learn the destinies of some of our nation's heroes. Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation Parks, trails and open green spaces will remain accessible except for Dec. 25, when gated parks will be closed.
