Winter 2022 | Marketing We are bringing all shades of teal and blue-green sapphires from Montana, Madagascar, and Sri Lanka. diet, and I can't wait to get o it! I'm dying to see new gems in Tucson and give everyone a hug." Kimberly Collins, Kimberly Collins Colored Gems "We are bringing all shades of teal and blue-green sapphires from Montana, Madagascar, and Sri Lanka, and gray spinel is still super popular. It is hard to acquire large, ne gemstones like red spinel, and no-heat sapphires. True padparadschas are also hard to nd—a lot of pads are washed out, not what you'd typically think of as a pad. Sourcing has been tough, but I have been able to receive goods from Sri Lanka, Madagascar, and ailand throughout the pandemic." Robert Bentley, Robert Bentley Co. "Miners are not mining, so we're not getting many interesting things from Brazil. But I have some longstanding relationships and access to a lot of rough. I have some Namibian blue chalcedony that was mined in the 1980s that I'm about to ship to Brazil for cutting. I also have some new Mozambique tourmaline strands that are beautiful. But the over- all quality of the rough I've seen in the past 18 months is not nearly as good as the material I already have from 10 years ago." Laurie Watt, Mayer & Watt "It's been an interesting couple of years because there's been no travel; we've had to develop a whole new avenue of buying through WhatsApp. It's not been perfect, and there's been a lot of returns, but we've made it work. We'll have a lot of bicolor stones at our booth like zircon and Montana and Australian sapphires—we'll put all those in our front case. Anything in corundum, from peach to green in 1 to 3 carats, has also been selling because it's di erent for weddings. We've also had a good percentage of sales in Zambian emerald, so we'll also have those at the show." 34 w w w.thejewelrybook.com AQUAMARINE BEADED STRANDS RANGE IN TRIPLE KEYSTONE PRICES FROM $3 TO $15 A CARAT AND UP; ROBERT BENTLEY CO., 212-302-4846, WWW.ROBERTBENTLEYGEMSTONES.COM
