Welcome to the New Year. We're looking for
a year of high hopes, great possibilities,
fun puzzling and great reading.
To celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
we look at Rainbow Power. King believed
that like a rainbow, all people are precious,
and our differences make the world a
better place.
Hold on to your hats. The reason we don't
all blow away in a windstorm
is Gravity. It pulls on
everything and keeps
everything from drifting
off into space.
Otters are clever critters
and fascinating to watch.
They are also one of the few
animals to use tools. While
lying on their backs in the ocean, they use
rocks to open up clams for a tasty treat.
Ask your grandparents what the kitchen
was like in their childhood, and what food
they ate. You'll be amazed at the
differences. You could even help compile a
Family Recipe Book by asking family
members to write out their favorite recipe.
Keep them all together in a binder or copy
them out for gifts to treasure for years to
come.
This year, let's explore more,
appreciate more, laugh more,
learn more, enjoy more, prosper
more and succeed more!
Happy New Year
