Founders Day Celebration Weekend is set for February 25, 26 and 27th, 2022. After a one-year hiatus Texas Alpha will resume its annual celebration of brotherhood. The weekend will begin with a group function on Friday evening at Disch-Falk Field featuring the preseason #1 ranked Longhorn baseball team taking on the Crimson Tide of Alabama. Saturday will kickoff with a taco breakfast and sporting clays competition with skeet and other shooting stations. After the champions are crowned, brothers will gather at the chapter house for barbecue and fellowship. Saturday evening features the Annual Awards Banquet at the UT Club inside Royal-Memorial Stadium. The entire alumni and undergraduate chapter will come together with their dates to honor a number of exceptional undergraduate Phi Psis along with two of our outstanding alumni brothers – Jay Carvell '85 and Robert Johnson '64. Jay Carvell '85 is scheduled to receive the Texas Alpha Private Sector Service Award for his remarkable achievements in the field of finance with WhiteHorse Capital. WhiteHorse provides debt financing to performing middle market companies in the U.S. and Europe. It has a broad investment mandate and provides senior, subordinated, and unitranche debt for refinancings, growth capital, acquisitions, buyouts, and balance sheet recapitalizations. Robert Johnson '64 will receive Texas Alpha's highest honor the George Nelson Lytle Award recognizing his lifetime of great dedication to the chapter. Robert served as undergraduate GP and Carnival Chairman, he has held positions on alumni boards and, is one of Texas Alpha's largest benefactors through his support of the house campaign and the annual campaign. Additionally, he consistently reunites 60s brothers by organizing and hosting events at his home in Austin.
