Your alumni volunteer corporation and undergraduate leaders have continued our efforts to minimize the impacts of COVID, keep our brothers safe, and provide a best-in-class Fraternity experience. Firstly, congratulations to the Chapter on being awarded yet another Buchanan Cup at this summer's Grand Chapter Conclave in Denver! Further proof that Iowa Delta is not only the best Fraternity at Drake, but also a top Chapter in the nation! Our annual meeting was held virtually in April. Although it wasn't under a tent on a rainy Saturday of Iowa spring weather, it was great to see some brothers we hadn't seen in a while, share a virtual beverage, and trade some jabs and stories! We discussed the business of keeping the Chapter solvent through low Chapter House occupancy due to COVID and the challenges that lay ahead. Our alumni and undergraduate leaders did a great job of getting us through the worst, and while there are certainly additional hurdles to overcome, we're entering the fall semester with a Chapter House near full occupancy and in a sound financial position. We're also excited about the new energy around alumni engagement. With the help of era captains, we are reinvigorating the Iowa Delta Alumni Facebook page, updating brother contact info, and creating digital and newsletter content that, we hope, will help us stay better connected as a brotherhood. We also, for the first time in a while, asked for your financial support—and boy did you respond, with donations totaling over $9,500 in 2021! ose dollars go to everything from funding the Balanced Man Scholarship to sending undergraduate leaders to amazing national programs to allowing us to host our Relays celebrations and even to produce these newsletters. ank you, brothers! Your generosity and support of Iowa Delta has been truly incredible to see. Speaking of Relays, mark your calendars for our annual Relays tent celebration on Saturday, April 30, 2022, and the Iowa Delta Rechartering Anniversary Celebration in April 2023. You won't want to miss them! Lastly, I want to thank our alumni volunteers for all the hard, and often unrecognized, work they put in for our Fraternity. Whether it's the mentorship of undergraduate leaders, the tireless upkeep of our beautiful Chapter facility, the managing of finances, guidance of our board for corporate health and stability, or the vital effort of alumni engagement, your work is so important, and YOU are what keeps Iowa Delta going. If you are interested in getting involved as a volunteer, please reach out to me.
