CityViewNC.com | 27 Holiday Decorating Tips from Pink Petunia Color Play: Add a surprising color to your decorations! Don't be afraid to step outside your box – go beyond traditional reds and greens and add in a touch of hot pink, black and white plaid or silver and golds to your theme. Layer, Layer, Layer: Load up on a mix of faux greenery to mix with live greenery for a fuller and grander look! A little element of surprise: Take larger Christmas ball ornaments and stuff them into the inside of the tree to give dimension to your final look. They usually are seen as the backdrop to your beautiful collection of ornaments peeking out of the green branches! Greens on Greens: Take a walk through your yard and cut some real magnolia greens, fir, red berries and the "ever famous" smilax to add to your Christmas decor! It's stunning and will last through the season! Spruce up: If your artificial greens look aged from long-term use or outdoor exposure, touch them up with a gentle spray of dark green spray paint. It brings them back to life! Shop right at home: Use a beloved large planter for your tree instead of a tree stand and skirt! It is fun to add in a bit of unusual to your Christmas! And it is OK to decorate early – and before Thanksgiving! You enjoy the season that much longer! From everyone at PWC, we wish you joyous holidays and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. Please keep safety in mind as you decorate for the season: Keep live trees watered. Be sure lights and decorations have the UL seal and are labeled for outdoor use if used outdoors. Don't use anything with a damaged cord. Unplug lights before you go out or go to bed. And use LEDs – they're safer. Visit faypwc.com for more safety tips and to see how you can earn a bill credit for purchasing LED light strings. Spreading Holiday Cheer We hope you enjoy the many holiday traditions and events in our community that PWC supports. They include: hanging the decora- tions that line our streets downtown and supporting Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation's "Christmas in the Park Powered by PWC" and Cape Fear Botanical Gardens' "Holiday Lights in the Garden". Customer Focused. Community Strong. 'tis the Season 17278
