After 31 years of pursuing Venice Area
Beautification Inc.'s mission to enrich
the quality of life for every resident of the
community by nurturing and developing
enhancement projects throughout the
Venice area, perhaps its best now to
identify this organization by the many
colors worn by its volunteers.
VABI is like a tree in its operating
structure. One branch is Venice In Bloom
(also known as the Bloom Team). This
group of volunteers, wearing lime-green
shirts, weeds, replaces flowers in pots
and baskets, and grooms the downtown
public avenues. Meanwhile, Keep Venice
Beautiful, a cadre of volunteers in neon
yellow shirts, weeds, mulches, plants
and otherwise spiffs up public parks
