Collette Seaton and daughter Amaya
California Interiors &
Design Inc. has been build-
ing, designing, remodeling
and furnishing homes for
decades. Founder Mary
Seaton began her career in
real estate and had purchased
and built her first home by
the age of 21. Although she
currently holds both an AS
and BS degree in unrelated
fields, her vast knowledge of
design, build and function
comes from many years in the
trade. It was natural for her
to open a showroom hosting
custom upholstery along with
everything else a home would
need.
Mary's daughter, Collette,
joined the company after
getting a degree from Cal
Berkeley and trying her hand
at law school. Collette is a
very integral part of the busi-
ness. She is extremely detail-
oriented and knowledgeable
when it comes to layout,
material selection and design.
Her daughter, Amaya, is only
8, but has literally grown
up in the showroom. She's
a child prodigy and is often
heard telling Google, "show
me a modern, contemporary
home, not a farmhouse."
Amaya sketches houses she
likes and has been draw-
ing 3D renderings since she
was five. She has aspira-
tions to become an architect
and Mary and Collette are
sure that, that will come to
fruition.
