CHI PSI • UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON • FALL 2021 T he alumni advisory board is excited to roll out the 4 Pillars mentorship program in partnership with the Central Office (CO) during the 2021-22 school year. Purpose The program will provide learning and networking opportunities to undergraduates at all stages of their academic careers. It will be broken down into four areas of support targeted for each year of school: • Inform: The first pillar welcomes first-year pledges and brothers into college and fraternity life. Mimicking the CO's Program for Excellence, this pillar will include information sessions for topics that will help new students adapt to school and prepare for their future. • Mentor: This pillar matches an undergraduate with an alumnus who works in a field the undergraduate is interested in studying. The mentor/mentee relationship will last the entire academic year, with meetings or other communication as often as the two can manage. The mentor will provide advice and knowledge to help the undergraduate determine their area of study and potential career path. • Intern: Targeted at third-year students seeking internships, this pillar provides career support to undergraduates. The program will help brothers prepare and update resumes as well as provide a list of Chi Psi alumni who are willing to be contacted to discuss their field and hiring opportunities. • Employ: Like the Intern pillar, the Employ pillar utilizes the same databases for fourth-year students to use in their search for full-time employment post- graduation. Additionally, we hope to include a separate list of alumni who know of full-time employment whom undergraduates can reach out to for opportunities. Your Help Is Needed The success of the program will hinge on support from the alumni community. Please reach out to Brother Trevor Renken '17 at trevor.renken@gmail. com if you are interested in becoming involved in any (or multiple) pillars.
