The thrift store has moved back to their old building behind Silly's Al's on Main Street. With fewer volunteers because of Covid and other health is- sues, it has taken a lot of hard work to get it up and running. There is still a lot of organizing to do as we head into the winter season. The thrift store is looking for some new volunteers to help get the store running a little more smoothly. Just a few hours out of your day on Thursday, Friday or Saturday between 10am and 2pm would be much appreciated. You can set your own hours and the days you work. Call the thrift store at 928-916- 7338 if this sounds like something you might enjoy. You will get more out of volunteering than you can imagine. We would like to announce that there are four town organizations that have been awarded checks from the Quartzsite Thrift Store. By Mary Weatherly Quartzsite Community Thrift Store donates The 4-H Club is a part of our com- munity. This year, Crystal Barber and her son Jack have taken over the volunteering work to make this club bigger and better. The kids work with small stock animals and show them at the La Paz County fair every year. They have expanded the club to include metal detecting, art, gardening and cooking. If you have a school aged child that might benefi t from this new program, please give Crystal Barber a call 760-668-7601 The Quartzsite Senior Center is a wonderful organization that does so many things for our seniors. From serving low cost lunches to organizing craft fairs and special events in the community building. This is another place that could use volunteers. Stop by or call 928-927-6496 if this sounds like something you might like to get involved with The Q Camels is a newer charity that helps people who are residents of Quartzsite to lead healthy lives. They work through the managers of RV Parks, the apartments, doc- tors and others in the community. The Desert Amateur Radio Club (DARC) started in July 2021 and offers "free ham radio license in a day" classes for the community and Ham 101 classes to help new hams. The DARC Club are civic minded individuals that help in the com- munity of La Paz Valley. For more information please con- tact Cass Kuck @520-9092706.
