ake no mistake: the challenges that began last
year are not over, and we must all continue
to prioritize our health and safety. That said,
it has been so heartwarming to see things improve on the
K-State campus and watch our active sisters enjoy more
in-person bonding activities! For more details, enjoy our
wonderful chapter president's report on page 3.
I also want to thank everyone who attended our third
annual Chi Omega Tailgate on October 2. The event was
a hit, and it was wonderful to see your beautiful faces
in person again! Be on the lookout next football season
for the date and time of the fourth annual tailgate—and
hopefully many more events in between.
Several important house updates were completed over the
summer. We finally swapped the ancient dishwasher with
a new and improved version, replaced the commercial
disposal, and installed a brand-new ice machine. We also
updated the back entry with new security locks and fobs,
boosting both safety and convenience for our sisters.
Speaking of safety, our plans include improved lighting
in the Chapter House parking lot, which we think will be
a major improvement.
Lastly, I'd like to tell you all about a new edition to
Kappa Alpha's programs this year: Parent's Club!
Planning for this began last fall with two Kappa Alpha
moms and two new Chapter advisors. All four ladies had
older children who had been involved in Greek systems
at other universities, so between the four of them, they
had lots of resources, examples, ideas, and enthusiasm.
The first event we used to kick off Parent's Club was
Mom's Weekend in spring 2021.
Ideas for Parent's Club projects include work week
treats, birthday celebrations, Dad's and Mom's
Weekends, decorating for the holidays, new member
welcome gift and events, and senior celebrations!
Not only does the Parent's Club want to celebrate the
active Chapter, but they also want to fundraise to help
supplement wish list items for the women, such as
sprucing up the patio with two new lounge chairs with
side tables, umbrellas for the tables, outdoor string
lighting, and Chi O pillows.
Whether you are a parent or alumna, please contact me
if you have any questions about getting involved. Kappa
Alpha would love to have you!
Yours in Chi Omega,
