A PUBLICATION OF THE ZETA PHI CHAPTER OF BETA THETA PI FALL 2021 INSIDE: A Matter Worth Fighting for 2 Brotherhood Knows No Bounds 3 Chapter Officers 3 Welcome, New Brothers 4 T he Zeta Phi Chapter of Beta eta Pi has upheld its strong presence at the University of Missouri over the course of the 2021 academic year. rough recruitment, academics, philanthropy, intramurals, and campus leadership positions, our members have continued to excel, proving to be Men of Principle. During the spring semester and through the summer, our recruitment team did a great job bringing in 37 new members with a GPA of over 3.7 and an ACT score above 27. Representing various areas of Missouri and across the Midwest, we are very excited for how well-rounded the current new member class is. In the spring semester, the active chapter finished above the all-university, all-fraternity, and all-male GPA marks with a GPA of 3.42 across 135 total members. Ranking in second place among chapters larger than 25 members and in sixth place overall, the chapter had a strong showing in the classroom. Both the active chapter and new members are striving to build upon our academic performance this fall semester and remain at the top of the leaderboards. While this past spring semester still presented a challenge to maintain a strong involvement philanthropically due to COVID-19 regulations and concerns, the chapter still found ways to give back. Current sophomore Tommy Briner '24 was able to raise $3,400 for the St. Baldricks Foundation, which is an organization that collects donations for the fight against pediatric cancer. Tommy raised this money over the course of several weeks, and at the end of the fundraising period, proceeded to get a haircut to further solidify his support. Further, we are in the process of planning some other events for the fall semester, including the annual Pumpkin Carving with the Boys and Girls Club of Columbia along with a philanthropic hockey game against ATĪ©. Some intramural sports have been reinstated, and the chapter is off to a strong start on the field. e only sport being played currently by Beta brothers is flag football, but the A-Team is off to a 4-1 start and is likely going to be the No. 2 seed in the playoffs. Our chapter is beyond proud of our brothers who are actively involved and taking on leadership roles in various student organizations at the University of Missouri. Daniel Rhea '23 and Evan Sacks '23 are members of the Homecoming Steering Committee and play major roles in the planning and execution of the Mizzou tradition, while Stephen Bowen '23, Dylan Kay '24, and Fletcher Orr '24 are members of the Associate's Program in the University of Missouri Investment Group.
