Box 442100 Lawrence, KS 66044-2100 Address Service Requested FOLLOW US ONLINE Ken worked in the chemical and aerospace industries for nearly 30 years, including living and working in Germany for seven years as well as China and the U.K. for five years each. Now retired, he volunteers 25 hours a week with Beta; EarthCorps, a Seattle-based Americorps nonprofit that trains recent college graduates in environmental leadership; and SCORE, which helps small-business owners and entrepreneurs start and improve their businesses. Ken and his black Lab, Gracie, also work as a Pet Partners therapy dog team, helping K-2 students improve their reading skills. "My Beta experience changed my life in many ways, and I want other men to have an equally great experience," Ken said of his alumni service. He encourages undergraduate Brothers to get involved in the Chapter and really get to know one another. On the professional end, he recommends "following the fun" in career choices rather than simply following someone else's expectations of you. His son, John, and daughter-in- law, Monica, graduated from MIT. His son, Doug, and daughter-in-law, Robin, graduated from UC-Berkeley. Pending the status of the pandemic, he plans to resume singing and performing with the Boston Cecilia and Metropolitan Chorale. His singing career started at the Beta House!
