Lion's Share ALPHA OMICRON CHAPTER OF ALPHA DELTA PI AT OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY FALL 2021 The T he Alpha Omicron Chapter celebrated the Grand Opening of our new Chapter house on Saturday, July 31, 2021. Braving the sweltering summer heat, hundreds of alumnae, donors, family, and friends gathered in front of the new Chapter house on University Avenue for the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony. The brief ceremony included remarks from House Corporation President Teresa Colpitts Smith '80, Chapter President Mackenzie Gallagher '18, and a blessing of the new house given by Alpha Omicron Dad, Senator James Lankford. Ms. Smith acknowledged the key role our generous alumnae donors played in making it all possible, recounting the incredible and challenging journey of rebuilding the Chapter house. She thanked both the corporate and individual contributors on the project: Newcomb Architect & Engineering Firm, Miller-Tippens Construction, Guernsey Interior Designs, and Jay Kirkpatrick, President of Kirkpatrick Program Management. Financial support of the more than $12.5 million project was made possible by the loyal, dedicated, and incredibly generous alumnae who stepped forward and said, "I Believe." Those alumnae donations were administered through the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation (Jen Webb, Director); Simmons Bank in Stillwater provided financing for the project and Jen Henson of Residential Housing Corporation provided valuable financial consultation. Following the brief ceremony, guests were invited inside the Chapter house for tours and to get a first glimpse of the stunning new home of Alpha Omicron. The spectacular Grand Foyer greeted each guest and inspired audible gasps and awe as visitors crossed the new front porch and entered through the expansive main entry doors. The extraordinary, new, 34,500 square foot house is carefully crafted and designed to reflect the symbols and colors of Alpha Delta Pi and connect every woman who crossed the threshold in the last century to the women who will enter the home for generations to come. The house has multiple spaces for small and large gatherings, both formal and informal; group and individual study rooms; laundry rooms; and a commercial kitchen/kitchenette on the first floor and a snack room on each of the other floors. There are 34 bedrooms to house 108 women. The spectacular Grand Foyer leaves visitors in awe of its Juliette balconies and stunning chandeliers, while the Greek View Balcony overlooking University Avenue offers spectacular views of the OSU campus, University Avenue and Greek Row. While many fraternities on the OSU campus have undergone rebuilding projects, Alpha Delta Pi is the first sorority to accomplish a complete tear-down and rebuild of their Chapter house. This is a home that has carefully preserved memories of the past 100 years and allowed ample space to make memories in the future. The Official House Dedication ceremony will take place July 15-17, 2022, during our Centennial Celebration. More information on that event will be available soon. Be sure to follow the event Facebook group for the most up -to-date information at www.facebook.com/ AlphaOmicron100. Naming Opportunities Are Still Available!
