I like to think of November as the beginning of
the holiday season. Nights are longer, the air is
cooler, leaves are falling from the trees and
there's nothing better than curling up with a
copy of Kid Scoop News to read.
The Thanksgiving holiday brings the family
together for food and fun. Our fun this year
includes a couple of pages with a challenge to
complete puzzles and brain twisters on a
Turkey Day theme.
Have you ever made a pile of fallen
leaves and then jumped into the
middle of them? But have you also
stopped to consider why leaves
are different colors? Pages 8 and 9
explain the process of photosynthesis
that makes that happen.
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are
one of the greatest inventions ever.
There's quite a story to peanut butter and that is
told on Page 16. George Washington Carver invented
over 300 products made from peanut butter.
Let's not forget Veterans in November. Veterans
Day is November 11. There will be parades in
communities across America. If you know a
veteran or the family of a veteran, it would be a
good thing to honor those people who served in
the military and thank them for their service.
On the topic of thanks, Thanksgiving is the time
to give thanks to the people who
help you— teachers, parents,
friends and more. A little
gratitude goes a long way. I am
thankful for all you readers!
So, thank you for being a Kid
Scoop News reader!
