Acacia PAGE 7 CHAPTER ETERNAL ALUMNI NEWS Forrest Stewart '49 is a 93-year-old World War II veteran and has been married to his wife, Bette, for 72 years. They were nominated and honored with the Citizens of the Year award in 2015. Forrest took an honor flight to Washington, D.C., and was recognized as a Distinguished Hoosier by Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb. They reside in Daleville, Ind. Email: forbetbo@att.net Richard "Babe" Routh '53 shares that fate brought his family together in Grand Rapids, Mich., where he and his wife, Carol, recently moved. At first, only one person from his family lived in Grand Rapids, but now he is one of 10. Babe and Carol enjoy living close to their two daughters, sons-in-law, and four grandchildren. Email: billphillips0308@gmail.com John Morgan '60 earned his Ph.D. in organic chemistry at Princeton. Following a postdoc at Johns Hopkins, he worked for Procter & Gamble in pharmaceuticals and regulatory affairs, retiring in 2014. John and Judy have three adult children and nine grandchildren. His brother, two sisters- in-law, and daughter are all Indiana graduates. John lives in Cary, N.C., and extends best wishes to all. Email: cincytocary@gmail.com Thomas Schoellkopf '62 was awarded one of the IUPUI Spirit of Philanthropy awards for the help that he and his wife, Barbara, gave in establishing the Tom and Barbara Schoellkopf Community Counseling Center at IUPUI. Email: m.skirvin@comcast.net Rusty Fishel '76 was inducted into the Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame. A celebration and presentations were held on August 6. Rusty was chosen for induction in the 2020 class, but that event was postponed due to COVID-19. He played basketball, baseball, and football in high school. The Facebook site is managed by Thomas DeRue '95. Search for "Indiana Acacia" and request to join the group. There are now over 500 brothers actively engaged with the group. Email Wreckage Since early 2019, an email version of The Wreckage has been distributed around two times per semester. The most recent was in May 2020. Are you receiving it? If not, make sure Acacia Fraternity HQ has your current email address and other contact information. You can update both on your own by logging into myAcacia from acacia.org. Staying in Touch The first group of 3.45 scholars in 2017. A higher academic profile is a key goal of any restructured Chapter model. Fall 2018 pledges inside Showalter Fountain.
