You'll hear about the river's wildlife, lock and dams (we'll lock through three), bluff-side towns, and tales of Old Man River. Nature's backdrop is magnificent on this full-day cruise—as are the ship's vantage points from all three decks, and its renowned entertainment. B, L, D DAY 6—ROBOTIC DAIRY/ PENITENTIARY MUSEUM/ IOWA'S PRETTIEST FARM The day begins hosted by John and Joan Maxwell, owners of Cinnamon Ridge Farms, a robotic dairy operation where we'll watch robots milk the cows! Then, discover the fascinating story of Weber Stone Quarry as we ride down into one of the deepest quarries in the Midwest. After a delicious home cooked Iowa lunch at the General Store in Stone City, we return to Cedar Rapids and home. B, L x A Partnership of Discovery Roy Reiman—after launching a number of national magazines (Country, Farm & Ranch Living, Reminisce, etc.)—learned a long time ago that his readers wanted to visit the interesting people they read about in his magazines. I was honored to have Roy hire me back in 1987 to put together several of his fascinating travel programs. Along the way, Roy and I together created several of our "off-the- beaten-path" tours...what a fun time that was! Our Iowa magazine Today, Roy and Editor Larry Wiebel together publish Our Iowa magazine—one of the finest magazines in the country. I'm ecstatic to again join with both Roy and Larry to develop distinctive discovery tours of Iowa. The three of us have picked some of the finest backroads spots to visit across the state. Travelers will be amazed at the unique stops we'll make…astonished at the brilliant scenery along the way…and awed by the friendly and warm welcomes they receive at each stop. We hope you'll join us on one or both of these itineraries to Iowa. Steve Uelner, President Country Travel DISCOVERIES 855-744-TRIP (8747) | 47 US — MIDWEST | OUR IOWA AND THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER
