for Excellence Gala
The fundraiser will help to support
WJA's programs, including the recent
launch of WJA Foundation's Respon-
sible Sourcing & Sustainability Education
Fund, its Conversations on Diversity,
Equity and Inclusion program, and its
WJA Masterclass leadership development
series.
The decision to launch WJA
Foundation's Responsible Sourcing &
Sustainability Education Fund was
simple. WJA members have an
increased interest in learning more
about where materials originate,
and how to make the best deci-
sions about sourcing to protect
human rights and the environ-
ment. WJA Foundation has posi-
tioned itself as a valuable resource
and directs WJA members to
experts.
As an official kick-off for the
fund's launch, WJA Foundation
partnered with Amazon Aid
Foundation and Ethical Metal-
smiths to screen the documentary
River of Gold for members of WJA
and the industry at large. The
Foundation will continue to raise
money to support its fund, includ-
ing for WJA members to study
responsible business practices and
sustainability online through
New York University's Center for
Sustainable Business and Execu-
tive Education programs. As the
fund grows, the goal is to expand
the Foundation's giving to mem-
bers that are interested in learning
more about responsible sourcing
and sustainability, and to attract
new talent from outside the
industry.
Opportunities to sponsor WJA's
Awards for Excellence Gala are still
