Banton, in this survey of the historical development of african and african american/african Diaspo- ra/Black/africana/Pan-african studies. rather than only take a historical approach, partici- pants will use a variety of texts, films, and mu- sic to explore thematic issues such as slavery, colonialism, nationalism, civil rights, human rights, and inequality in the development of global politics.
