Now imagine that someone comes to you and says that every- thing that you, your family, your friends and your fellow countrymen have dedicated your lives to is a fraud. You have spent your life wor- shipping and leaning upon a god who does not exist. Worse yet, hell is your destination for trusting in what everyone you have ever known has conviced you of. If this happened to you how do you think you might respond? Now put yourself in the place of the person that has been given the task to tell this individual about Christ. What on earth will you say? I hate to say it, but yet another major expansion to this unbelievable heat is already showing up on the weather models. The Southern and Eastern states have been dealt to serious big numbers the last couple of months, in fact, unless August is a cool month, then most likely for many regions, including ours, this Summer could be recorded as the hottest Summer ever. Overall, even though we haven’t touched 104 or 106 degrees, the daily average high temperatures are just too high to ignore. Just like last Winter was a cold one, this Summer is a hot one. I don’t see that changing anytime soon. The pattern keeps repeating. Unfortunately for the highway 74 region in both counties, we continue to miss out on rain. In fact, as of the time of this writing , Shelby and southern Rutherford and Cleveland Counties are looking at their driest 60 day stretch in recorded history. Summer winds have truly changed. Coming up this weekend is high pressure and slightly cooler air. Next week...dare I say, another heat wave looms.
