Lambda Chi Alpha - University of Illinois - Champaign, Illinois • Summer 2021 Chi Zetagram Chi Zetagram Preparing for Chi Zeta's Comeback Alumni Engagement and Support Needed for Lambda Chi's Fresh Start at the U of I A s you all know from our recent messages, your fraternity is in the midst of a long series of transitions. A decade ago, we were confronted by a crumbling house showing the wear of its near century of service to the needs of undergraduate and alumni brothers alike. We successfully undertook a multi-year effort to identify our common goals for the future, razing the original house and designing and building its magnificent replacement, including raising the funds necessary to carry Lambda Chi Alpha into the next century. Unfortunately, some poor decisions resulted in the fraternity's dismissal from campus, giving us the opportunity to again evaluate our future objectives. We are looking at the opportunity to return to the University of Illinois in the near future, and we have already received indications of strong support from the International Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and campus administration. However, we will need significant alumni participation to make this goal a reality. As you can see by the list of directors and officers, we have several vacancies on the board that we will need to fill to share the workload for future projects. This is an excellent time to become involved with your Alumni Association. The present demands are modest, which will give new volunteers an opportunity to slowly familiarize themselves with the organization and each other. More importantly, Alumni Association volunteers will influence the future of Chi Zeta at the University of Illinois. If you have any interest in joining the Alumni Association as a director or officer, please contact any current member of the board with your questions or thoughts about how to ensure the future success of Chi Zeta.
