8 • July 2021 • www.OfficialKidsMag.com Classic S'mores ingredients 2 graham crackers 2 large marshmallows 1 milk chocolate bar MICROWAVE METHOD: 1. Break graham crackers in half. Break chocolate bar in half; center one section on each of 2 graham cracker halves. 2. Top each with marshmallow. Place on paper towel. 3. Microwave at medium (50%) in 10 second intervals until marshmallow puffs. 4. Top each with another graham cracker half; press gently. 5. Let stand 1 minute to soften chocolate. Serve immediately. OVEN METHOD: 1. Center half of chocolate bar on each of 2 graham cracker halves. 2. Place remaining 2 graham cracker halves on cookie sheet; top each with marshmallow. 3. On middle oven rack, broil 30 seconds or just until marshmallows are golden brown. 4. Immediately invert onto chocolate- topped graham crackers; press gently. 5. Let stand 1 minute to soften chocolate. Serve immediately. CAMPFIRE METHOD: 1. Center half of chocolate bar in each of 2 graham cracker halves. 2. Roast marshmallow over campfire until it's toasty and gooey 3. Immediately put marshmallow onto chocolate-topped graham crackers, press gently. 4. Let stand 1 minute to soften chocolate. Serve immediately. Tip: try any of these ideas with chocolate graham crackers instead GOURMET S'MORES IDEAS: Peanutty Variation: Spread thin layer of Creamy or Crunchy peanut Butter on graham crackers. Proceed as directed. Chocolate Banana S'more: Place slices of banana on top of chocolate bar; proceed as above. Choco-Cherry S'more: Cut two maraschino cherries into slices; place on top of chocolate bar; proceed as above. Choco-Berry S'more: Place slices of strawberries on top of chocolate bar; proceed as above. Raspberry S'more: Spread thin layer of seedless red raspberry perserves on graham cracker; proceed as above. S'mores in a Cone ingredients 1 full-size graham cracker sheet ½ milk chocolate Bar (1.55 oz) 20 miniature marshmallows 1 waffle ice cream cone instructions 1. Heat oven to 350°F, or heat grill. Break graham cracker and milk chocolate bar into small pieces (about 1/4 to 1/2 inch). Add marshmallows; stir to mix. 2. Fill ice cream cone with graham cracker mixture. (Mixture will completely fill cone). Wrap filled cone tightly with foil. 3. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or place on rack of grill until very warm. Cool about 2 minutes; unwrap cone. Enjoy! S'mores on a Stick ingredients 12 marshmallows 2 milk chocolate bars (1.55 oz. each) 1 tablespoon shortening (do not use butter, margarine or oil) ¼ cup graham cracker crumbs 12 lollipop sticks instructions 1. Line tray or cookie sheet with wax paper. Push lollipop stick about half way into each marshmallow; place on prepared tray. Remove wrappers from chocolate bars; break into pieces. 2. Place chocolate and shortening in small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at Medium (50%) 30 seconds; stir. If necessary, microwave at Medium an additional 10 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth when stirred. 3. One at a time, dip about 1/2 of each marshmallow into melted chocolate; shake off excess chocolate. Immediately sprinkle chocolate portion with graham cracker crumbs or dip in graham cracker crumbs for heavier coating. Return to tray. Refrigerate about 5 minutes or until firm.
