He was an active member of Sigma Chi, serving as Consul in 1951. His wife, Jill, says he frequently shared stories from his Fraternity days. John will be missed by his friends, family, and Sigma Chi brothers. ALUMNI NEWS Clay Kemper Perkins '56 is a retired physicist living in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. He worked as a rocket scientist and is now a nuclear historian. Recently, he built a 100- foot tower replica of the Trinity atomic test and purchased a C-54, a four-engine WWII- era plane. Email: fairwold2@cox.net Joe Smith '63 says that beginning in 1965, he and 12-15 of his Pledge brothers and wives have enjoyed an annual reunion each year. Last year was the first year without a reunion due to COVID-19.
