The ohio state university page 3 T his past year has certainly been a challenging one for all, and this was no exception for Greek life nationwide. With these difficult times, not only were certain individuals called upon to step up, but large buy in and activity was needed from the entirety of the chapter to make this past year a valuable experience. The Delt brotherhood at The Ohio State University initially struggled but turned to our values to fulfill our commitment to lives of excellence. Strengthening the Beta Phi Brotherhood The chapter is incredibly proud of our 45-person new member class this spring, all of whom we have the faith in quickly making an impact internally and the community. Although it was a new challenge recruiting in an online environment, our recruitment chairmen, Carl Conley '23 and Hudson Davis '23, more than excelled in preparing for the task. The challenge of online member development has continued with our guide, Ben Nagy '23, taking the lead. He has brought an engaging experience, while prioritizing our values in a difficult environment. Getting Back in the Groove of Giving Back After a dormant period last semester due to COVID-19 guidelines causing a transitional period within the community, philanthropy and community service have been reestablished as a strong point here at Beta Phi. Our philanthropy chairmen, Pete Cogan '23 and Andrew Conover '23, have put in a tremendous amount of work raising money and spending hours to better the community, as well as raise donations for our national partner, JDRF. Their work extends to the active members within the chapter who donate their time every week, visiting and helping at the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. Recounting Successes and Looking Ahead The recent success of the chapter's visions and goals for the future can largely be attributed to the hard work of the executive board, our chapter advisors, and the House Corp. However, the strides that have been made in recent weeks could not be traced to a single group, and the entirety of the chapter should be proud of what is accomplished every day. Everyone's continued support within Beta Phi is a testament to the great culture built at 67 East 15th that consistently makes strides when the right mindset is carried by all.
