DELTA TAU DELTA PAGE 5 ALUMNI UPDATE CHAPTER ETERNAL James Johnson '64 entered Chapter Eternal on December 26, 2020, from multiple long-term health issues about a month after contracting COVID-19. He earned his master's in mathematics and engineering from OSU. James entered the Air Force and then moved on to a career with NASA and the Federal Systems Division of IBM. He later became an instructor, and after retiring from IBM, he worked for several non-profit mental health groups, traveling the state of Oklahoma. Jim wanted to help as many people with mental health issues as possible, being bipolar himself. He was a kind soul who never put money or material things before people. Jim was an avid collector of most things nostalgic and enjoyed jogging and all sports, especially college basketball and football. He loved his royal Delts, who were with him always, especially during difficult times. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda; his son, Zandt (Brooke), and grandchildren, Ethan and Aria; and his sister, Jane, and nephew, Brett. He is greatly missed by all who knew him. Alan D. Ammentorp '82, of Kerrville, Texas, entered Chapter Eternal on November 9, 2020. While at OSU, he earned his undergraduate and master's degrees in geology. He worked in the oil and gas industry prior to a lengthy career in petroleum industry insurance, including six years in Singapore. His last eight years were spent assisting patients at La Hacienda in Hunt, Texas. Alan is survived by his parents, W.F. "Bill" and Mary Ammentorp, as well as his brothers, Steven (Karen) and Tom. ALUMNI UPDATE Bill Sims '55 enjoyed the busy life of being a Delt, and he misses all the events with his brothers, especially dances. Kip Moore '61 is enjoying life at 84 and keeps in touch with some of his brothers. He lives in North Little Rock, Ark. Larry volunteers at a local hospital, Baxter Regional Medical Hospital, known for its award-winning care. He lives in Gassville, Ark. He taught tai chi at the senior citizen center until the beginning of the pandemic. Recently, he's been listening to a podcast for reading the entire Bible in a year. He lives in Bowie, Texas. He still works at John's Island Club (JIC) in Vero Beach, Fla., as general manager; he will have completed 25 years as the general manager at JIC on June 1, 2021.
