DELTA CHI NEWS PAGE 4 I t is my honor as president of the Delta Chi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta to assist our brotherhood in ushering in an era of new beginnings. With the completion of the new Shelter holding prominence in the minds of all Delts, the undergraduate chapter is taking the opportunity to reflect on the challenges we persevered through during 2020 and prepare for the trials that we will endure in the coming years. Last year was an extremely challenging year for Greek life, but our chapter leadership adapted to face the adversity brought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic that swept the nation and the world. Thankfully, I can report that Delta Chi was able to turn trial into triumph. Through new programming, hard work, and a bit of creativity on the part of the previous executive team, we were able to finish the 2020 calendar year in the 85th percentile of Delta Tau Delta chapters nationwide, according to the Fraternity Awards and Accreditation Report (FAAR). The report accounts for areas Delta Chi exceled in on a national standard, such as academic excellence, brotherhood, and recruitment. The FAAR also identified areas in which Delta Chi could improve further. Recognizing shortcomings in member education and risk management is the first step to fundamentally changing the culture of the house even further. We are no more than a couple of years away from turning our 85th percentile mark into 90th. Our executive board is laying a new foundation for Delta Chi so brothers who come after us may benefit from our hard work, as well as your generous support in the financing the new Shelter. We are grateful for everything our alumni have done to make this dream a reality, and we pledge that the undergraduate chapter will uphold the standard of excellence that has been established.
