Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity - University of Washington SECURING THE FUTURE OF MU CHAPTER e urgent need to renovate the Old Gal S teve Jobs once said, "Great things are never done by one person. They're done by a team of people." While his full quote is about business, I believe this also applies to our Securing the Future of Mu Chapter capital campaign and the urgent need to renovate the Old Gal. Thanks to the generosity of our 124 donors we have raised $1,057,462 toward our $2 million goal. These loyal Mu men represent just 10% of our active alumni base, which means there are still a lot of brothers who have not yet joined the campaign. We need your help to make additional progress on the renovations. This past summer and fall, the remodel of the third floor was completed and it has never looked better! The project included a new electrical setup, doors, flooring, and shower room. These renovations were coordinated by the Corporate Board and brothers Paul Bailey '74, Torjan Ronhovde '75, and Bob Strecker '78. However, we need more funds to make other necessary renovations and they simply won't happen without your support. If you haven't contributed to the campaign yet, please don't wait any longer. Mail a check with the enclosed pledge form or visit alphasigmaphi.com/capital-campaign to donate today. If you have donated or pledged, thank you! Your support has allowed us to make some fantastic improvements. Help us spread the word by letting your brothers know that their participation is essential to our success. Mu Chapter has stood for an impressive 109 consecutive years. As a team, we can secure the future of the Old Gal for the next 100 years. Make a pledge or donation today! F rom providing lifelong friends to affording leadership opportunities, Alpha Sigma Phi laid a foundation of success for Stu Linscott '96 and shaped his life in countless ways—most importantly, his professional path. Stu proudly supports the Securing the Future of Mu Chapter campaign to show his appreciation for the brotherhood, life lessons, and connections provided by the fraternity. "The Old Gal is the foundation where wonderful values and opportunities exist," he explained. "I want to see them survive." Within the walls of the Old Gal, Stu gained the confidence to lead by holding various officer positions. Each role he held at Mu Chapter, including president, coupled with his degree in economics, prepared him for his career in commercial banking. However, a recommendation letter from (former) Grand National President Kevin Garvey, Westminster '75 solidified Stu's professional path after graduation. After applying and interviewing for a commercial banking position in Bellevue, Washington, Stu was up against more than 30 other applicants with banking experience. "I was worried because I was fresh out of school with no banking experience. STU LINSCOTT '96 How Alpha Sigma Phi Influenced His Future and Why He Gives Back to Mu Chapter Stu Linscott '96 with his family. (Continued on back) I t's important to acknowledge the support of our undergraduate brothers to the growth and future of Mu Chapter. They have committed $50,000 to the campaign and have worked closely with the Corporate Board to provide input on the plans and phased projects. The pandemic has created a challenging environment for the undergraduates, but they have faced the challenges head on and remain strong. The active Chapter has won the Grand Senior President's Cup twice in the past three years (2018 & 2020) and has already welcomed six new members for spring while preparing for summer recruitment. They're looking forward to fall quarter when UW is expected to return to in-person classes. e 2021 e 2021 Undergraduate Undergraduate Executive Board Executive Board
