A s Jack wrote on page 2, thank you so much to the brothers who have aided in our roof replacement efforts. Beta Pi thrives thanks to brothers like you. Also, thank you to all the alumni participants of last year's golf outing. Proceeds from the event have been allocated to this roof project, as well. OUR MYSTIC SHRINE Gerry R. Wilson '52, former chapter president of Beta Pi, passed on to Our Mystic Shrine on November 4, 2020 in Temecula, Calif. Gerry founded Wilson Creek Winery with his family in 2000. His motive to start the winery was to reunite his scattered family and to create a legacy that will endure through the generations. He poured his hard-earned retirement into the business so the family can could together again. Gerry is remembered for his kindness, compassion, love, and graciousness. James "Jim" B. Stoltman '57 passed on to Our Mystic Shrine on September 11, 2019. Jim was a devoted archaeologist who felt privileged to serve as a teacher, researcher, and counselor to those who entered UW-Madison's Department of Anthropology. When he wasn't digging in the dirt with his students or analyzing ancient pottery under a microscope, he loved to play tennis, drink a good martini, travel with Sallie, fish, sip fine cognac, play poker, adore his grandchildren, listen to favorite songs (most notably "Ripple"), and throw overripe bananas while vigorously gesturing during meetings. David Ziegenhagen '58 passed on to Our Mystic Shrine on January 29, 2020, in Cloverdale, Calif. Husband to Mary, brother to Barbara, John, and Peg, and father to Eric and Marc, David was always full of warmth and jokes, and played a variety of music instruments. He was the founder of the Burnsville Current and Current newspapers, CEO of Stratis Health, and served in leadership roles with the U.S. Peace Corps, Mental Health Association, and other not-for-profit organizations. Robert E. Murphy '69 passed on to Our Mystic Shrine on April 17, 2020. Rob worked for many years at IBM in sales and sales management and was part owner of a business equipment company. Rob was an avid golfer and member at Minnesota Valley Country Club for many years. He also loved horse racing. He loved his family and friends and delighted in phoning friends on a regular basis to remind them of favorite stories. Ben Peterson '02 passed on to Our Mystic Shrine on March 23, 2021 in Fergus Falls. He enjoyed all sports and played in rec softball and volleyball leagues in the Twin Cities. He played on the basketball and baseball teams and was manager for the girls' volleyball team while attending high school in Moose Lake. He was a movie fanatic and especially enjoyed science fiction and Justice League movies.
