He came within an arm's length of the big leagues during spring training in 1995 as one of the best replacement players in the Dodgers' organization during the ongoing 1994-1995 strike. Kirkpatrick 's professional career shone most brightly overseas. In 1998, he headed for Taiwan and joined the Sinon Bulls of the Chinese Professional Baseball League. Kirkpatrick was an out-of-the-box superstar in Taiwan, leading the league in batting average (.387), home runs (31), and runs batted in (101). He was the first player in CPBL to win the Triple Crown. Second Base: Cobie Vance, Oakland Athletics Organization, 2018-Present e pride of the Pine Forest High School Trojans, Cobie Vance is currently a rising star within the A's organization, having spent the 2019 season as the starting second baseman for the Beliot Snappers of the Class 'A' Midwest League. Before signing on with the A's, Vance was one of the best infielders in Alabama Crimson Tide history, starting in all 168 games during his college career.
