EPSILON OMICRON NEWS 3 I am thankful to have been recently reminded that Alpha Tau Omega is based on eternal and immutable principles. Love, respect, brotherhood, and the values that ATΩ instills have been, are, and always will be important, even during a pandemic. ATΩ's principles have encouraged us to be the best men possible—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. This spring, we are focusing specifically on scholarship, service, and brotherhood and are seeing improvements already. Epsilon Omicron ended 2020 on a high note academically by achieving a 3.18 GPA, which includes 11 members who had 4.0s. We are striving to eclipse both of those marks for the spring semester. Scholarship Chairman Tim Conetta '20 has set a goal for our Chapter to achieve a 3.3 GPA this spring. Philanthropy Chairman John Paul Pierce '21 has done an excellent job improving our impact through service days that he has organized with his committee that includes Kyle Dausses '21 and Drew Underwood '21. We have unpackaged clothes for kids across Oklahoma at the Kaleo Foundation in Oklahoma City and served at Habitat for Humanity with our Homecoming pairing, Phi Mu. We are looking forward to more volunteer days and Gatorfest. During Gatorfest, we will be fundraising for Payne County Youth Services, which is an outpatient community-based and substance abuse treatment provider, emergency shelter, and crisis services center in Stillwater. If you are interested in supporting Payne County Youth Services with us, please reach out to me or any active member and we will gladly share our fundraiser page with you. Another great way Epsilon Omicron has taken strides toward excellence is with brotherhood events. With more and more events hosted on Zoom, we are doing our best to provide the value of "binding men together in a brotherhood based upon eternal and immutable principles." In January, we started meeting in person for the first time in 10 months. In the past year, we have hosted more brotherhood events than the past multiple years combined with a successful golf tournament, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, video game tournament, and poker nights to bring the brothers together in a safe manner. While the pandemic has made it challenging to see other close friends and family, we've prioritized staying connected with Epsilon Omicron alumni. We are finishing up our second semester of alumni mock interviews, which have drastically improved our interviewing skills and allowed us to make valuable connections with alumni. We have also been thankful to have David Ratcliff '83, Michael Carpenter '11, Ian Steedman '83, and Pat Harker '85 speak to the chapter throughout the spring semester. Alumni Chairman Zach Walker '19 is coordinating an alumni golf tournament for Saturday, June 26 at 1 p.m. at Cedar Valley Golf Club in Guthrie, OK (International Course), one mile east of Hwy 74, on the south side of Hwy 33. Contact Matthew McCoy '04 at matthewdmccoy@gmail.com with any questions and to RSVP to the golf tournament. You can also reach Zach at zachery.walker@okstate.edu. We hope to see you there. As we wrap up the spring semester, we are already preparing for fall recruitment. If you have any connections to men who will benefit and be benefitted by ATΩ, please reach out to me or Head Recruiter Will Politte '20. I'm thankful to be a part of a brotherhood and am excited to see it grow.
