T he Epsilon Omicron ATΩ Capital Campaign Committee is actively developing plans and working to kick off Phase II of our capital campaign on June 1, 2021, after getting $1,657,866 from more than 80 individuals during Phase I, which ended in 2020. We have had several developments during this planning period and will have some exciting news when we launch Phase II. Thank you so much to those who have already donated and pledged to the capital campaign and to the multiple persons who have helped call, write, and contact brothers to encourage donations to a new chapter house. We are estimating $6 million will be required to build a new house. Assuming we can borrow $3 million, we need $3 million in donations/pledges, so everyone's help will be needed. Please stay tuned for more information leading up to our June Phase II kickoff! Love and Respect, David K. Ratcliff '83 David R. W hen Matt Duvall '90 was looking to join a fraternity at Oklahoma State, he noticed how he made immediate, natural connections with the men of Alpha Tau Omega. However, that was only part of the equation that seemed to make Epsilon Omicron the perfect environment for Matt's Greek life experience. Matt was impressed by how the Epsilon Omicron Chapter House seemed to be more updated than the other houses on campus, giving ATΩ a significant edge when recruiting the men of highest character at OSU. While Epsilon Omicron has enriched the lives of its members over the past three decades, the Chapter House has experienced wear and tear and lost some of its charm, especially with other fraternities on campus recently building new houses or making major renovations to their facilities. It was a no-brainer for Matt to help change that by contributing to the Building Leaders, Constructing Stability capital campaign. "I felt the need to give back to the organization that impacted my formative years," Matt said. "Getting an updated/modern Chapter House is critical for the Chapter to survive in the current university landscape. By helping the fraternity not only survive, but thrive, other young men may have the same great experience that I had." Matt has many fond memories from social events such as the yacht party, reorganizing the Chapter and meeting an entirely new group of potential members, and staying connected with his brothers at functions like the alumni golf tournament. He remains grateful for the officer positions, including Chapter president, that he held at Epsilon Omicron. "Being in the EO Chapter was a great experience for me," Matt said. "Taking on responsibilities beyond the normal college undertaking and having to balance that with the rigors of school really helped develop the leadership characteristics that I feel I exhibit today. I don't believe I would be as successful as I have been over the course of my career without having been in the fraternity."
