Hartless began his service representing La Paz County District I on January 1, 2009, and served as the Board President in 2012 while simultaneously earning his associate's degree from AWC. In his resignation letter Hartless stated, "It is with great regret that I am announcing my resignation, effective immediately, from the Arizona Western College District Governing Board for personal/family reasons. I have served on many boards over the past twenty years and none have been more interesting and engaging than the time I've spent serving on the AWC board. Hartless has served as the AWC representative to the Arizona Association of District Governing Board and co-chaired the Presidential Search Committee in 2009 and again in 2010. Dr. Glenn Mayle, president of Arizona Western College, appreciates Hartless' work representing La Paz County. "Randy Hartless was an excellent board member and I hate to lose him, but I certainly understand family priorities," Mayle stated. Dr. Mayle is working with Janice Shelton, La Paz County superintendent, to search for a suitable qualified replacement to fill the unexpired term that runs through December 31, 2014. Just Rambling... Arizona Western College (AWC) in Quartzsite will host one-hour community workshops during the months of June and July. Featured workshops include: Learning the Mouse through Solitaire and Pinterest and Me. During hour-long community workshops participants will have the opportunity to learn new skills in the above areas. Pinterest: Interested in setting up a Pinterest account, learning the benefits of Pinterest or simply what it is? During this workshop participants will create a Pinterest account. Workshop will be geared towards individuals who are comfortable with using the internet and interested in joining a social network. Individuals who are interested will need to have a personal email account prior to the start of the workshop. July 2, 2013 and July 16, 2013 from 2:30-3:30 PM. Learning the Mouse through Solitaire: Not comfortable using the mouse control for your computer? During this workshop participants will become comfortable with using the mouse for a computer, find out the difference between a right click and a left click, and find out when to use a single click or a double click of the mouse.
