Quartzsite, AZ - During their May 28th regular council meeting Quartzsite Town Council
appointed long-time resident Mary Scott as
the seventh member of the council. Scott fills
the vacant seat made when Patricia Anderson
resigned in April due to health.
Scott owns Cactus Curlers Beauty Salon, located at 712 W. Cowell and has been a resident
of Quartzsite since 1971.
In October, 2012, Scott portrayed Angelita
Scott known as "Grandma Scott", during Hi
Jolly Cemetery's 2012 Spirit Walk. Grandma
Scott was the birth mother of 12 and was the
foundation for 5 generations of Quartzsite Scott
family.
Scott served as La Paz County Supervisor for
four years, and has 12 1/2 years experience as
a judge. She served as Quartzsite's first Magistrate Judge. Scott was sworn in on Wednesday,
June 5th and attended her first council meeting
on June 11th.
