BUILDING ON A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE Standard Bearer The Spring 2021 Eta Chapter of Sigma Chi at the University of Mississippi T he accomplishments of Eta Chapter in its 164-year history are endless. We can go on and on about what makes Sigma Chi the premier fraternity at Ole Miss. is is made evident by the many brothers banding together to contribute to the Building a Tradition of Excellence capital campaign. We want to extend our sincere appreciation to the 200 brothers and friends of Eta Chapter who have collectively pledged more than $2.3 million to the campaign. It's paying immediate dividends with the progress made on the renovated chapter house. We were thrilled to share an update at our monthly OAC meeting in March on the construction benchmarks. Dorm addition progress includes the west side steel columns being erected, second floor decking being poured on the west side, the east side steel columns being erected at 33%, and first floor decking being poured on the east side. e existing dorm roof demolition is complete, and the power pole has been set at the southeast corner of the property. We're also excited about where we stand on the dining addition. e slab has been prepped and poured, exterior walls have been erected, and the roof has been installed. ere are several significant milestones that we're hoping to reach later this spring and summer. While we can't wait to see how the renovated chapter house elevates Eta Chapter, we also can't afford to slow down when it comes to our fundraising efforts. It's critical that we reach our $2.5 million campaign goal so that Eta Chapter is financially strong for the foreseeable future. e chapter house updates will provide an environment for the men of Eta Chapter to thrive in all their endeavors while honoring our brotherhood's decorated history. With a pledge of $2,500 or more, you can have your name etched on a donor wall that will be prominently featured in the house. One name that I'm proud to say will be on the donor wall several times is the late Adam Trowbridge '87.
