alumni.oxepsilon.org EBA Financial Status F inancially, 2020 was an active year for both the Chapter and EBA. We finally accomplished our long-term goal of revitalizing the exterior of the Chapter House. This began in 2018 by replacing all of the windows. In 2020 and into early 2021, we updated the siding with a new modern look; final touches will come when the weather warms up. All in all, this project came together through budgeting and reworking our loans with a new bank. The EBA is committed above all to serving the Chapter and helping as much as we can with the resources that we have. It is our hope that we can keep the Chapter House in great shape as well as support the Chapter with additional resources in the coming years. We greatly appreciate every donation that we have received from generous alumni and friends. This is, of course, Dean John van Alstyne, a great friend and advisor to many Theta Chi brothers over the years and a true genius and legend on campus. Since his passing in 2010, many have wondered how he will be remembered and celebrated. Our very own Joe Gammal '86 is helping to lead the charge to create a lasting tribute to "van A" on campus. Below is a message from Joe. Please support this worthwhile effort to remember a man we all knew and loved. WPI is building a new state-of-the-art facility focused on the smart world. The top floor will include an Academic Advising Suite of offices which we hope to name for van A, plus a digital and physical remembrance that will capture his affect and inspire others for years to come. The Tribute to van A campaign is a WPI-supported effort with a goal of receiving $500,000 in monies and pledges by September 30, 2021. For pledges of $1,000 or more, donors have the option of giving in equal installments over five years. A dedicated crowd-funding site has been set up where you can make your tax-deductible "Tribute to van A" donation. Also visit the "Dean van A Memory Board" where we invite you to reminisce and share your stories of van A (see above for both links). Thanks for considering this worthy cause. With it, we hope to remember his magical genius and inspire, in others, his "helping hand" way of student support for years to come.
