5 D espite the hardships faced throughout the year due to COVID-19, the Eta Zeta Chapter of Sigma Nu has not only persevered but continued to uphold the values of Love, Truth and Honor. Many members have excelled on campus and stepped into leadership roles to provide support to the university in these uncertain times. One of these individuals, Graham Clary HZ1351, has excelled both socially and academically and has been initiated into the Orientation Student Leader program. is is a tremendous honor and is one of the highest positions a student can have at Louisiana Tech University. Graham is now responsible for leading, supporting, and advising the future students of Louisiana Tech University. Along with outstanding leadership on campus, Eta Zeta has held and funded various philanthropy events for both individuals and organizations in need. One of our biggest philanthropy events this past year raised money for the medical expenses of a student in another fraternity, who had recently been diagnosed with late-stage cancer. In another event, members helped set up and work MedCamps of Louisiana's Winter Bash. Brothers also participated in MedCamps' Night to Shine event. Academically, Eta Zeta has outperformed past years. Our chapter GPA sits at 3.1, and we are working to only go up from there. During the winter quarter, Brothers Joseph Kidd HZ1326 and Zachary Harrell HZ1361 were the first to receive scholarships from the Alumni Chapter's scholarship fund. is fund was created and has been administrated by Brother Bud Richey HZ169 and has been supported by several alumni brothers. We have a lot to look forward to, and the best is yet to come. Eta Zeta recently elected our new executive council members, consisting of strong leaders within our chapter. Each board member has shown tremendous work ethic and immense devotion in his position. So far, the board has worked with the school to approve future philanthropy events such as a "Finals Car Bash," in which all proceeds will go toward MedCamps of Louisiana health supplies. We also hope to gain approval for a charity banquet. is banquet will consist of guest speakers and various raffle opportunities. Despite all of the hardships faced throughout the year, Eta Zeta has not only persevered but accomplished great things both in the chapter and throughout the campus.
