April is Child Abuse Awareness and Preven on Month! Did you know that child abuse is
10x greater than the risk of cancer? Crazy, right!? At the Children's Advocacy Center of Benton County, our mission is to
empower children to find their voice and each April, we recognize it as Na onal Child Abuse Awareness & Preven on
month! We want to make sure that every child is safe and protected!
Each child should have 5 safe and trusted adults that they can talk to about their feelings. Some of these safe adults
could be moms, dads, neighbors, teachers, coaches, doctors or police officers. While having one safe adult to talk to is
good, it's important to have at least 5 on your list! If one person doesn't know how to help you, you can go talk to the
next person on your list.
