PAGE 5 T he fall 2020 semester was a pivotal period for Alpha Eta, but I'm pleased to report that it was a successful one. Along with marking our final semester of probation, the fall term was the first full semester that brothers lived in the new Chapter House. I'm proud of the collective effort put forth by all brothers to meet all University and National Fraternity requirements to be back in good standing. While the fall 2020 semester was terrific for Alpha Eta, we've used that momentum to reach higher and finish the academic year on a high note. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, we had a strong summer recruitment. Our excellent scholastic performance from last spring and the new Chapter House were helpful with recruitment last summer, but it was our hard- working recruitment teams and loyal alumni who really deserve a special thanks. Sadly, Homecoming 2020 was canceled, but we kept ourselves busy with sorority mixers, brotherhood events, and rebuilding relationships with other Greek organizations. Alpha Eta had another strong scholastic performance in the fall, placing seventh among 24 OSU fraternities with a 3.23 GPA. Of the 24 associates initiated on February 12, their cumulative GPA for last fall was 3.51. The fall semester provided us with an opportunity to reestablish Lambda Chi Alpha's great name across campus, and we seized it by committing ourselves to excellence in all our endeavors. The spring 2021 semester is off to an even stronger start. We have 66 active members, including 11 associates in our spring class. We have already held two brotherhood events, cigars and pizza and flag football. Both events were very popular and we have more activities, such as paintball and soccer, scheduled for later this spring. We are working with IFC and a few sororities to schedule COVID-19-compliant social functions. Our main goals for the remainder of this academic year and foreseeable future are to place as one of the top chapters in Homecoming, improve our academic rank among fraternities, and raise the standards even higher for new member recruitment. High Delta Jack Cantrell AH2044 has formed three recruitment teams to operate our summer events in Dallas, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa. These teams are made up of two to three members, supplemented by other available members when necessary. They will be the first point of contact for potential new members in their respective domains. Jack will also oversee all events and gatherings that the recruitment teams plan. We are very excited about the future of Lambda Chi Alpha here at Oklahoma State and we are certain that we will be successful for the rest of 2021.
