SIGMA ALPHA EPSILON Kansas State University P.O. Box 442100 Lawrence, KS 66044-2100 Return Service Requested LION'S LORE A s you can see from the chapter update on page 1 from Eminent Archon Parker Larson '23, we have much to be proud of as it relates to the ongoing strong performance by our undergraduate brothers. Last fall, Kansas Beta was named the top SAE chapter in the country by earning the Fraternity Zeal Award, the highest award granted by SAE National each year. The men managed the challenges brought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic well during the fall semester, keeping the chapter house full and financially solid, achieving a 3.7 GPA—the highest in recent years––and staying safe and healthy with only five positive cases throughout the semester. The $300,000 exterior renovation is complete and fully paid for. The updates provide an ample outside space for our undergraduates in the current pandemic environment and will serve as a communal space for parents and alumni returning to campus. Projects completed include: • Repainted the exterior in historical colors. • Added outdoor cooking and gathering space. • Revamped the landscaping and lighting. Kansas Beta Continues to Excel • Added a new outdoor basketball court. • Installed a new lawn irrigation system. Our next project will be upgrading to the five restrooms and replacing the glass block windows in the formal living room of the Chapter House. More information to come later this spring. Recruitment is a year-round activity and the critical lifeblood of the chapter.
