Born in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Andrew Sr. and Sallie Mae Ingle Self. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Cone Self, Clarence A Self, Jr., Bobby Carol Self, and Archie Ralph Self; and sister, Elene Crouse. She is survived by her hus- band, Joe S. Wyte of the home; sons, Scott Wyte and wife Laura, Joey Wyte and wife Julie, and Mark Wyte and wife Johnna; sister, Betty Jo Johnson and husband Gerald; six grandchildren. A graveside service was held February 24, 2021 in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Steve Taylor officiating. Andrew Jackson "Jack" Henley, Jr. age 81 of Cherryville, NC, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Carolina Care Health & Rehabilitation. He was born April 21, 1939 in Lincoln County to the late Andrew Jackson Henley, Sr. and Willie Maude Boggs. He was preceded in death by his parents, AJ and Maude Henley; and brother, Jim Henley. He is the son of Linda Leming Moss of Kings Mountain and the late Bobby Gene Moss. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Caleb Moss of Lowell; daughters, Hannah Brewer and husband Joey of Bessemer City and Kaylee Scruggs of Fallston; sister, Rita M. Cagle and husband Michael of Kings Mountain; brother, Randy E. Moss and wife Pam of Kings Mountain; two grandchildren. CORA SURRATT MOORE Mrs. Cora Surratt Moore, 102, of Shelby, NC passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021 at her residence. She was born on December 6, 1918 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Bryson Surratt and the late Pearlie Mae Gill Surratt. In addition to her parents and husband, she was pre- ceded in death by two sons, Larry Moore and Rowell Moore Jr.; one daughter, Norma Jean Little; one sister, Rovetta Dawkins, two broth- ers, Ed Surratt and Ernie Surratt; two sons-in-law, Russell Little and Kenneth Woods Sr.; two grandsons; and one great-granddaugh- ter. Shelby: Russell Sparks Davis Sr., 100, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland. Born in Chesnee, SC, he was the son of the late Fred and Mary Sparks Davis. Mr. Davis served our coun- try in the U.S. Army during WWII. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jackie Parker Davis; his second wife, Mildred Keeter Davis; son, Russell Davis Jr.; broth- ers, Leonard, Hoyle and Ken Davis; and sister, Marian Packard. He is survived by his son, Robert Davis of Atlanta, GA; half-sister, Nancy Reynolds of Concord; and half-brothers, Mack Davis of Gaffney and Frank Davis of Moreno Valley, CA. She was born on November 28, 1941 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Charles Oates and the late Lucy Amanda Hunter Oates. In addition to her parents, she preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Oates, Samuel Oates and Joseph Donald Oates and two sisters, Barbara Schenck and Delloa Idola Oates. She leaves fond memo- ries to her brother, Dec. Stonewall Oates; a sister-in- law, Mrs. Jeannette Oates; and special friend, Dr. Charles Rogers. The memorial service for Dr. Henderson was private. FRANK HUDSON Frank Hudson, 74, of Casar, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at his residence. Born in Rutherford County, NC on May 10, 1946, he was the son of the late Arie Esper Hudson and Barbara Lou Hoyle Hudson. In addition to his par- ents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Coleen White Hudson; a son, Bruce Franklin Hudson; a daugh- ter, Donna Hudson; and a sister, Vernie Mae Pruitt. Survivors include a daughter, Shelly Hudson of Casar; two brothers, Fred Hudson of Hildebran and Wayne Hudson of Casar; a sister, Dorothy Marlow of Morganton; and four grand- children and four great- grandchildren. Ledford went home to be with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Hospice of Cleveland County Wendover. Betty was born September 28, 1940 in Shelby, NC to the late Vernon and Gazzie Mode. Betty lived in the Shelby area for her entire life. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In her teen- age years, she sang each week on the radio with a group of ladies, The Calvary Trio, from Calvary Baptist Church. She spent many years as a Sunday School teacher and choir member at Double Springs Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Shelby High School. She and her husband, Tommy, spent many years hosting holiday get-togethers for her extended family at their "barn" near Boiling Springs, NC. Getting together with her family to eat and social- ize was one of her favor- ite things to do. She also loved and enjoyed her beach house at Myrtle Beach, SC for over 28 years. She shared it with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent many years with the family at the beach and developed many long-term friendships from the people she met there. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Gazzie Mode and an infant daughter, Teresa Jo. She is survived by her husband, Tommy Ledford, her daughters, Robin Kiser (John) and Beth Cabaniss; and her step-sons, Greg Ledford and Don Ledford (Jennifer); three sisters and one brother: Marilyn Bridges (the late Frank Bridges), Becky Smith (the late Bill Smith), Sheila Wellmon, and Tommy Mode (Gayle Mode); her grandchildren, Dr. Stephanie Kiser of Boston, MA and Matt Kiser (Abby) of Statesville, NC and her great-grandchildren Corban Kiser and Callie Kiser. Funeral services were conducted March 3, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Beam officiating. Burial followed the funeral at Sunset Cemetery where she will be buried beside her daughter, Teresa Jo.
