Jack loves this business and wants to contribute to and give back to the industry that he has been a part of for over 50 years Q: Jack, what words of wisdom do you have for the industry starting off in 2021? A: Stay the course, seize every opportunity, and build on it. Better days are coming—with op- portunities for growth. Q: Jack, I have always known you to be so kind and upbeat, so please share with us how you are able to stay so positive? A: Attitude, attitude, attitude and perspective… Be positive, optimistic, and make the best of any and all situations. Do not get bogged down by negativity and naysayers. Face challenges, concur them and learn to grow from every obstacle. Q: Jack, what are your thoughts on trade- shows and the future of the industry? A: Shows will bounce back, but there will be a shifting of international markets. The industry is going through one of its most disruptive worldwide cycles. There will be a realignment and we will come out more efficient and stron- ger than ever. Q: What do you feel sets you apart from our industry? A: My team and I have been coming to work every day since May. We have sent 10 eblasts to our customers beginning in March, updating them on worldwide market conditions, giv- ing tips on how to follow up on calls, letting our customers know we are here for them and available for any assistance they need. I love this industry and it has given me so much. I have been educating, consulting, guiding and advising my customers and industry members unconditionally. We respond, qualify, fulfill, and satisfy almost all calls we receive and pres- ent multiple options allowing customers to make their own choices. During this time we had the highest percentage of completing and satisfying sales calls than any other period in our history. Our extensive collection of one of a kind gems is one of the best in the country and our market position, combined with worldwide connections, professionalism, trust, integrity, and fast action, bears fruit. When we receive a call for an item that is not in our inventory we reach out to our extensive network of suppliers worldwide to obtain exactly what our custom- ers need. This past year, we filled calls for high six figure gems and melee sapphires, emeralds and rubies. Our motto besides "professional- ism, trust and integrity is we are here to please not to tease."
