Council voted to table Zoning Ap- plication #8711 for 140 N. Moon Mountain Ave. in order to consider all potential alternatives to creating a C-2 parcel within a generally de- veloped residential area. Council voted to approve Or- dinance No. 21-02 amending the Town Zoning Code with respect to Adult-Use Marijuana establish- ments. Revisions to Article 17 of the Zoning Code included adding the term "Adult-Use Establishment" to be regulated in the same manner as Medical Marijuana Dispensaries. Council also revised the operat- ing time and days to 9:00am-7:00 pm Monday through Saturday; re- duced the separation distance be- tween marijuana establishments to one-mile and to 500 feet from any school or educational facility; sepa- ration from bus stops was removed due to being unenforceable. A new Article XX (20) was created restrict- ing marijuana establishments with the Town to one Medical Dispen- sary and one Adult-use Marijuana establishment. Council adopted Resolution No. 21092 ratifying an earlier vote to adopt the 2020 La Paz County Multi- jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan for the Town of Quartzsite. Council voted to approve an amendment to the ADOT Transit Grant Agreement that would pre- vent Transit agencies from apply- ing to multiple disaster relief agen- cies for similar CARES Act funding. This basically prevents a Transit Agency from double-dipping the same grant fund. Council voted to approve the rec- ommendation of the Public Works Director and Water System Enginer to purchase a new computerized control system for the Kofa Well and Booster Station. The current system is fi fteen years old and not functioning properly. The funds for the $42,500 purchase will come from the Town's Water Utility Con- struction Fund. Council reviewed and approved the 2021 Pavement Preservation Plan bid documents authorizing the Public Works Director to being ad- vertising for bids. Contractors will bid on providing slurry seal at vari- ous locations around town. The bid opening is set for March 2, 2021. The next regular meeting is set for February 23, 7pm via Zoom.
