Established in 1919 by evangelist Dr. John E. Brown Sr., John Brown University (JBU) was created to combine Christian liberal arts education with an emphasis on specialized vocational training. It's amazing how much this renown learning institution has grown from its humble beginnings as a vocational school. Now Arkansas' top-ranked regional university according to U.S. News Best Colleges of 2020, JBU serves nearly 2,500 students from 50 nations and 41 states. e university offers 54 majors, with top programs including engineering, nursing, family and human services, biology, graphic design and construction management.
