Yep, Turdopholous is a sweet little cat, but she doesn't want to be disturbed when taking her naps. It's like, so help me, she's on Ambien and can become ill if you interrupt her siesta or catnap. REMEMBERING DUNDEE A cat can have a way of gaining your affection, much like Dundee, the yellow cat who once called Dunn's Nursery & Garden Shop on Skibo Road home. When Dundee went missing in 2005, owner J.F. Dunn called me in a lather and hoping I could write a story and help find the white cat he was so crazy about. "I love that cat," J.F. Dunn told me before breaking into tears. We found Dundee, and J.F. Dunn was the happiest man I ever saw and was crying tears of joy. "A woman who worked for me brought him here," Dunn said. "I told her, 'Don't bring that cat here.' But we all liked Dundee, and customers liked him. We had to put him down a couple of years ago. He was like talking to a human being. We buried him out here at the nursery." EPILOGUE ese days you'll find Turdopholous perched on the front porch in the aernoon like the "queen bee" and leisurely taking in life, much to the chagrin of other neighborhood felines. Except when she has a hankering for me to deliver the Meow Mix and she's pawing on the storm door. "She's adopted you, Bill," my Virginia was telling me, when I was telling Virginia that the last thing I need in my life is a cat with pitiful hazel eyes staring up at me. "It's not a matter of whether or not you want her. She already has made the decision for you. She's adopted you." Turdopholous loves me. She absolutely loves me. And I've come to love Turdopholous. back. Gotta run. ose hazel green eyes are at the front door, and those hazel green eyes won't take no for an answer. I'm adopted, and Turdopholus, too.
